Sounds Of Berlin

Field recording

So, as any audio enthusiast would do, I took my recorder on holiday to Berlin. In between beers and bratwursts I managed to get a few decent recordings of things I thought were memorable…

Here’s a live jazz trio we stumbled on when walking around the town centre, it felt like a good time to grab a seat and beer…

Alexanderplatz near the fountain. A busy and very hot day, just as I set the recorder up a couple of buskers began playing across the way…

We decided to visit the Berlin Cathedral and by total accident sat down at the start of the daily sermon. A huge impressive interior, couldn’t resist clicking my fingers a few times to hear the sound reverberate around the place, not when anyone was speaking of course…

Here’s a clip of just the organ…

Here’s an ambience of what started off as a quiet sit down outside Cafe Vux with the leaves blowing in the wind, then it got busy quickly, cars pulling up, sirens flying by, people talking, the lot! Apologies if the girl to our right is saying anything offensive, I have absolutely no ideas what she’s talking about…

And finally, we caught a violinist playing outside Berlin Museum…

Here’s a few more pics from the trip…
